  I don't recommend it; the doctor frequently pressures patients into thyroid and breast biopsies. My endocrinologist was very surprised that a gynecologist, not an endocrinologist, performed the thyroid biopsy. Unfortunately, I got carried away and, full of anxiety, underwent such a biopsy. I believe the doctor is playing on patients' emotions and making a profit off of it, which is probably contrary to the Hippocratic Oath.
