Starting with the positives from my own experience: the stay in the pediatric ward was OK, the doctors (several, not just one) were dedicated (at least in our case). During the stay, consultations with specialists from other departments were comprehensive. The only unpleasant experience was with one orderly. I'm satisfied with the overall stay. However, the pulmonary ward (a close family member, age 23) was a disaster. With serious symptoms, several visits, the same SERIOUS symptoms ignored, and in the meantime, accusations of malingering (sic!). A reluctant CT scan was altered, followed by a quick referral to Warsaw. During the conversation: a quick procedure was required and he should be sent home, but nothing serious. In reality, it was a malignant tumor (!). Consequently, diagnosis and treatment were delayed by six months! Conversations with top specialists from two hospitals in Warsaw indicate that the patient's treatment in Ostrołęka is grossly negligent.

I have some reservations about the general surgery ward. Most of the nurses there are nice, but there are also those who can yell at patients. The service also leaves much to be desired – when I needed an IV changed, I had to ask three times. For an entire hour, an empty IV was connected, which blocked my vein and required a new IV. Similarly, when my wound began to hurt and required a dressing change, the nurses delayed it as if it were a problem for them. On the other hand, I have a much better opinion of the pediatric ward. The service there is top-notch. The nurses are very kind, helpful, and know how to talk to patients. IVs were changed quickly and efficiently, and the doctors were extremely friendly. My attending physician, in particular, stood out for his ability to clearly and easily explain what was wrong with me.

I wanted to reach out to every woman considering giving birth at this hospital. I gave birth here three months ago. I'm not from Ostrołęka, and I never expected that giving birth would be such a pleasant memory. I was admitted very quickly and efficiently, placed in the delivery room, and felt very well cared for. I was completely stressed, and the nurses and doctors were so kind and caring that I never expected such a wonderful atmosphere. During labor, great attention was paid to perineal protection. Anesthesia was administered at 5cm dilation. The midwives were by my side and very supportive throughout the entire labor. After being transferred to the postpartum room, a nurse came and asked if I wanted to rest and take my baby overnight so I could get some sleep. Over the next two days, they came frequently to ask if everything was okay and if they could help. I am grateful for all the care and truly recommend this hospital to any woman considering it, as I will have wonderful memories of the labor and stay.

The level of etiquette among nurses in the neurology ward is a joke. There's zero respect for the patient's family. Judging and outrage are at an all-time high. One nurse says, "Please provide this information," another says, "Come here," and they'll judge her, claiming she didn't. I'd be happy to meet with the ward nurse, and if necessary, the matter will be publicized.
