This was my first hospital stay as an adult, and I was rather pleasantly surprised. I was in the gynecological endocrinology department at Kopernika Street 23. For the most part, I felt cared for and treated with respect by the team (with a few exceptions). The staff (doctors, nurses, and housekeeping) were mostly empathetic, friendly, and dedicated to their work. The hysteroscopy procedure, although difficult, was performed to the highest standard. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job – it's very clean. 🌸 I feel grateful and thankful. 🌹 The biggest downside of the entire experience was the reception/registration process by the receptionist. It took place in an unpleasant, rude, and cold atmosphere. I felt like an intruder.

The gynecology and oncology ward is a joke. They haven't seen a doctor in two weeks. Do they have one doctor for this kind of thing? It's a circus. Calling doesn't work. They wait until people develop cancer and don't return calls with serious results. They give them tests for consultations, telling them to call to remind them to take the results to the doctor, and what are they even paying them for? It's their job. They should remember what they're supposed to do, not burden such sick patients with their own responsibilities. This is sick. Someone should look into this, a failure...

I wonder how many people developed lesions before he could see an oncologist. A 25-year-old woman with worrying lesions was told by her gynecologist to consult with an oncologist as soon as possible, but the hospital treated it like a teeth whitening procedure. They misled the patient, disregarding their time and health. In early December, I received information that the referral was being analyzed by a doctor, and within two weeks I would receive an appointment and examination. It didn't work out before Christmas, but I understood. I was stressed; eating was out of the question, but it's such a busy time that the hospital probably has too. BUT CALLING AFTER CHRISTMAS and hearing that the referral hadn't even been reviewed and there was no doctor available, I was overcome with anger, desperation, and devastation. The woman at the reception desk, of course, won't let the patient get a word in and won't listen to what he has to say, because the only thing that matters is her beautifully taught sentence: "THE DOCTOR IS NOT HERE, SO WHAT SHOULD I DO?" Shock and shame that we entrust you with our health and lives... may you all be held accountable for this someday.

I received a referral from a gynecologist for important tests. For over a month, I've been trying to reach the number provided by the receptionist, but I keep hearing "the number you've dialed is busy." I informed the receptionist, who responded, "Please call, all ladies are trying." No matter how many times a day I call, I keep getting the same message, and it's hard to believe that the line has supposedly been constantly busy all day, every day for a month. Someone should seriously investigate what's happening with the receptionist there, because this kind of treatment of patients could have been tolerated in the last century, not at the Jagiellonian University Medical College, which apparently prides itself on this only in name.

I can only speak highly of the staff. The staff, from the attendants to the nurses and doctors, are first-rate. Everyone is kind, courteous, and helpful. The food is delicious, and the hospital itself is impeccably clean and hygienic. I wish every hospital in Poland could boast such standards and quality.
